Membership

Membership to LIFT is always open. This is all we ask of members:

  1. Pay an annual $40.00 membership fee that covers our flying field lease and upkeep, this web site, and other incidental costs.
  2. If you plan on flying at the club field, you must be an AMA member. Membership provides required liability insurance for you and your aircraft. Information and an application are available at the AMA Website. (Prospective new members who do not have an AMA membership may fly on our field 3 times with a club member)
  3. Notify the club of what radio frequencies you are flying or find out the frequencies no one else is using before you purchase radio equipment. See the frequency page for a list of our frequencies to minimize frequency conflicts at the field and maximize flight time.
  4. Adhere to flying field safety rules while using the flying field.

Getting started in RC Sailplanes and Silent Powered Aircraft:

One way to get started is to come out to our club field and see for yourself what a great hobby this can be and meet some of our members or...

  1. Send an e-mail to us on the contact page and we will get back to you within the week and tell you when we will be out at the field and flying.
  2. You can also come to our monthly winter meetings. They are open to anyone and are a great place to ask questions.

Getting your airplane into the sky and finding a thermal, on most days, is not difficult. To become an accomplished flier who can fly multiple function aircraft on a competitive level takes a lot of time and practice. Do not feel you must become competitive. Most of our members just enjoy flying with friends.
