Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 52.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68.

This Contest is open to all members of LIFT at no cost.

It is a Team event with our club being one Team, challenging a number of other International Clubs

The International Postal Contest is an "invitational" event which is flown by a number of clubs throught-out the world twice a year, on dates as close to the first of April and September as the weather permits.

The Postal Contest is an open flying type event.  No pressure, no trophies, just five  6 minute flights when you call them any time between 10 am and 3 pm, and fun flying and good conversation in between.

Once you call an official flight you have a 9 minute window (after release of the plane form the line at launch) to attempt to get the most towards a 6 minute flight, that is, you can relaunch within the first 3 minutes.  Landings are scored on the FAI Landing tape which allows for 100 points within 1 meter of the landing spot and 5 points less for each meter out from the spot.

All Contestants are recored on our report and a good showing of members helps to show were an active club.  The 5 highest scoring members are used to rank our club against the other participating clubs of the world.

If you have other things to accomplish that day you can come early or late and get your flights in and leave.

If the weather turns bad for Saturday, I'll send an email Friday Afternoon.

Hope to see you there.

Fall IPC Contest - September 5th at 9:30am

UPDATE 9/4/10: Confirming that LIFT will be holding the contest on September 5th starting at 9:30am to minimize the affects of wind on the contest.

I think the IPC is a not a go for Saturday, for 20 to 40 mph winds are forcast.

Sunday September 5th looks doable.

Sundays weather is currently forcast a Sunday:  "Mostly sunny, with a high near 67." Winds are now only forcast for the morning at 6 mph drom the west."

Therefore we will attempt to hold LIFT"s participation Sunday September 5th, Between 10 am and 3:30 pm.

Stay tuned for more updates.
