UPDATE 9/4/10: Confirming that LIFT will be holding the contest on September 5th starting at 9:30am to minimize the affects of wind on the contest.
I think the IPC is a not a go for Saturday, for 20 to 40 mph winds are forcast.
Sunday September 5th looks doable.
Sundays weather is currently forcast a Sunday: "Mostly sunny, with a high near 67." Winds are now only forcast for the morning at 6 mph drom the west."
Therefore we will attempt to hold LIFT"s participation Sunday September 5th, Between 10 am and 3:30 pm.

The turnout was low, I suspect partly due to the storms predicted for Saturday.
Weather on Saturday turned out to be quite nice. We flew 5 rounds. We started with a 6 minute and went up to 8, 8, 10 and ended with a 12 minute round.
Sunday was very pleasant, except it got very windy, and extremely turbulent. We started with a 6 minute round and planned to go to an 8 but since only 2 pilots were able to make the 6 we kept the times at 6 minutes for 3 rounds. Pilot consensus was we would rather save our planes to fly another day and we called the contest after the 3rd round.
Thanks to all who braved the weather to attend and special thanks to all the club Members who worked the contest.

The LIFT Traverse City, MSL #5, Summer R/C Soaring Contest will be held this weekend August 14th & 15th at the LIFT Field.
Classes will include 2 Meter, Unlimited, & RES / Nostalgia combined. Trophies awarded to 3 places
in each class. High Overall trophie in each class awarded for those flying both days.
Planning on flying "Man on Man" if possible, and as many rounds as possible each day. With flying scores normalize to 100 points for each flight group. 100 point ( 1 Point per inch) landing circles.
You may fly the same plane in more than one class as long as the plane fits the class discription; such as a 100 " Nostalgia could be flown in Standard, Unlimited, RES and Nostalgia, and a 2 Meter full house could be flown in 2 Meter, Standard, and Unlimited.
Pilots meeting will be at 9:30 am., flying to begin as soon as ready afterwards.
