LIFT is cancelling this weekends contest due to weather, and rescheduling it on September 10th & 11th.
Sorry for any inconvience.
We we will have separate contest each day (Trophies to 5th place each class) with a 2 day overall 1st place Trophy.
We are flying 2 Meter and Unlimited classes. Cost is $15 for the 1st class and $10 for the second.
The scoring will be seeded man on man, that is each round you will fly against the pilots which have a score closest to yours.
Groups will be 4 to 5 pilots and the best flight plus landing of each group will recieve 1000 points, and the rest of the group will recieve a score in proportion to how each performed compared to the leader.
Hope all of you will fly at least one class for this is one of the fairest and fun type of contest to fly.
We will have as many rounds as we can get in starting before 3:30 on Saturday and 2:30 on Sunday, weather permitting.
Landings will worth 100 points on 100 inch tapes 1 point for each inch toward the center.

In that sorting the groups requires pilots in each class to be on separate frequiencies, if you want to reserve a frequency please REPLY email me with your name and frequency for each class, unless your flying on 2.4.
I will reply if your not the first to request a frequency for a class.
Decisions will be made based on the date and TIME you make your request.

The LIFT Early Summer Dual SoarIn, experienced very poor weather predictions for Saturday, and attendance was very low for the weekend.
Saturday began with thunderstorms from 4:30 am to 5:30 am followed by a downpour for the following hour and then drizzle until about 7am.
I headed to the field about 7:30 under overcast skies and patchy ground fog & sprinkles and the scud running at about 600 ft.
We set up the winches and scoring tent, experience a short light sprinkle and had 5 pilots show up to fly with 7 entries but only flew 2 Meter and Unlimited. Flying began around 11:30 am and we were able to get in 5 rounds of 6 min flights. Lift was fickle, and wind was between 8 and 12 mph and cold for the Temperature was in the forty's, tuff soaring day as shown by the scores, with the cloud base never over 700 ft and many times pilots launched or flew into low scud and had to dive down to regain sight of the sailplane.
Results attached.
Sunday, was a much nicer day. sunny but windy with Temps in the mid 50's to 60's, winds from the north north west around 8 to 10 mph increasing and the day progressed. We had 12 pilots with 17 entries, in 2 Meter, Unlimited and RES. At the pilots meeting I suggested we fly our normal 4, 6, 8, & 10 Minute flights call it when you land, but with and open winch ( no rounds ) with no flights started after 2:30 pm. The Suggestion was accepted with no objections. We began flying about 10 am and lift was good with little puffy markers of lift helping to spot lift. They only lasted about 20 minutes for the wind increase to around 12 on the ground and higher above and the puffy's were forming about a mile south of us. As the day progressed the wind kept increasing and the pilots kept adding more "lead" to be able to penetrate into the wind. Lift could be found but it was fast moving and turbulent. Landing area became a danger zone with the trubulence and wind causing many missed landings.
High scores were in Unlimited, but the top score was flown with a 2 Meter and the second highest with a Standard ( 100" ) sailplane.
I believe the open winch went over very favorably and allowed pilots to take advantage of choosing to wait for ( also known as betting on ) better conditions, or to get their flights in and leave a little early if they had a long drive.
