Ducks. The Ducks are a locally developed sailplane designed by club member Troy Lawicki. This glider has been refined from the an original 2M Duck. The first was built about 10 years ago as a two meter and standard and unlimited models followed. The latest is a reworked standard class. Ducks are being built and flown successfully in local, state, national, and international contests by Troy and others through out the country. Since Troy has moved from our area, other club members are continuing to build Duck's under Troy's guidance and refinements. Larry Storie has a set of molds for the fuselage and cut's wing cores. Production of these models is very limited. Cal Posthuma is shown here with one of the older Ducks. They are fabricated using S-glass, fiberglass, kevlar, mylar, and blue foam. They are not only a superb performing aircraft, but very durable while being flown in a stressful environment. The performance of this aircraft places it as one of the best performing sailplanes available. Old or new model, Duck's can do it all in the hands of a skilled pilot. Nice 2M Duck Cal!
