Sorry the report is almost non existent but after a spell of calm, cold and sunny weather in January it has now turned into a blustery and wet spell of Spring weather with lovely turbulence coming from the tree plantation on the upwind boundary of the field. Conditions overhead were good in the early part of the day but the later starters were blessed by total cloud cover.
Cheers

Weather conditions, Report:
Hello to everybody
As we fly from a army training camp territory up and on we can not have access to our flying site even on weekends as it was the case for the 29. of march weekend so we had to advance the IPC flying a week to the 22. of march. We startet first with the group photograf - as you can see we flew before heavy snow covered mountains.
At about 10 a clock we started flying with a light overcast weather, mediocre winds and temperatures at about 8 –10 degrees celsius. As there was no direct sun exposure lift conditions where weak and one had to work for the six minutes - but it had also few downwashes permitting not to bad flight times. As always the Landings where not regularly good - it was for a lot of pilots the first time in the year to fly a contest after the long winter - the training for good landings was not realy sufficient. Some flew of the club winch and some (the Gasbags!) prefered hand tow - the attained tow heights differed not realy much.
The models flown where of a great variety - mostly RES Gasbags like the AVA, Sagitta, Hy Fly and some own Design - also some modern F 3 J glass slippers like the Experience. About 12 a clock the wind freshed up and the attainable flight times where more and more shorter so we where happy to finish the 5 rounds of the contest early – short after midday. I hope that this time more than 4 clubs will participating on the IPC – last year it was a real mediocre activity – perhaps we should push on the clubs which did not sending in results last year. We would do so but I do have no adresses of those clubs - who can help?
Happy flying and always some lift under the wings!

Our IPC day was a reasonable flying day, compared to the previous weekends. The temperature was 66-68 degrees F. with winds of 8-10 MPH. Most of the day was sunny with periods of overcast skies during which thermals were few and far between. Thermal activity was good during the sunny periods but they had to be searched out. All in all, the day was a very pleasant experience for our club
Several fliers had not previously been in any sort of soaring competition and they did quite well. Other club members who were also in attendance and contributed greatly to the success of the day were, Lee Moyer, Gordy Grimm, Jean Hoyle, Ted Lanham, and Carolyn Storie.
Our club, L.I.F.T., looks forward to the Fall I.P.C.

Flown on two different days, 29 March and 13 April, due to some pilots flying in a different competition on the first day. Four pilots on 29 March and two on 13 April.
Weather on 29 March was generally good with some good lift. On 13 April, there was also good lift in places but the wind, although perfectly flyable, became progressively stronger during the morning which made landings a bit tricky. Note that two of the pilots were flying 2m planes which, as we know, can be at a disadvantage when the lift is far off.
